• Check for leaks in and around the pool equipment. Look for wet spots or drips around the pump and filter system.

Inspect Your Water Heater

Summer might reduce the demand for hot water, but it’s an excellent time to do some routine maintenance on your water heater.

• Check the temperature setting. It should be set no higher than 120°F to prevent scalding and reduce energy use.
• Inspect the pressure relief valve to ensure it’s functioning correctly. Carefully lift the valve’s lever and let it snap back. You should see a burst of water into the overflow drainpipe if it’s working right.
